A MFM physician, also referred to as a Perinatologist, is a board certified obstetrician who has completed 3 years of additional training in caring for High Risk obstetrical patients and are boarded in their sub-specialty. The Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist works in consultation with the obstetrician to obtain the best outcome for both mother and baby. Perinatal consultation is helpful whenever a pregnancy is complicated by a medical, obstetrical, or genetic condition, or when there is a suspected fetal abnormality.

Currently operates two (2) obstetrical resource centers located in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, as well as providing academic and clinical leadership to the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at major Long Island Hospitals.Through our clinical network, we provide a myriad of obstetrical services including: Perinatal Consultations, Fetal Testing, Ultrasonography, Genetic Services and Dietary Services. Our clinical staff is led by a team of Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists, and includes Perinatal Nurse Clinicians, Ultrasonographers, Genetic Counselors and Certified Diabetes Educators.
